Sephora Haul

I’m not someone who splurges on makeup. I use makeup on a daily basis, but I just don’t buy expensive makeup, and expensive makeup to me is anything that is above RM100 for a lipstick, that kind of a thing. Though, I did spend some money to get the Sulwhasoo Brightening Cushion. It is slightly pricier than regular cushion foundations, but it is really good. So, if the product is really good, I’ll occasionally splurge. But I rarely buy anything from Sephora because I feel everything is so expensive there. Also, I usually shop for Korean makeup products, Innisfree is my go to store.

Sephora had a 20% storewide sale this past weekend. I wasn’t particularly looking for anything, but I managed to get a few items.

Shopping!

These are little bath bomb thingies and body wash tablet thingies. Essential for travelling.

I also bought a moisturiser. This works really well on my skin. I’m currently using the Innisfree’s Tangerine Peel Whitening Pore collection for my morning routine. I bought the moisturiser from that range and after only realised it has SPF in it, so the moisturiser is not suitable for night use. So this product will come in handy for night use.

Untitled

I’ve never used a setting spray, so I thought this would be the best time to get one to try. Hope it’ll work well! Urban Decay’s de-slick.

Untitled

Last two products, I didn’t buy much but the cost definitely came up to a whole lot.. Anyways. Both products from IT Cosmetics, the Bye Bye Under Eye concealer and Superhero mascara. I’ve previously used the mascara before and I fell in love with it. As for the concealer, I tried it in store and it seems super promising.

Can’t wait to use all these products!

September 2017 post coming soon!

August 2017

My August update is long overdue. It’s almost the end of September! So I figured that I would just post some snapshots from this birthday month.

36BD7B72-CB69-44E6-A5EA-43D494C3DDE1

We went to Pavilion on my birthday, mainly for food. Hehe. TWG cakes are so delicate and pretty.

IMG_4434

This is a photo from attending my first alumni event at the Putrajaya Wetlands Park. It was really quite serene and peaceful there. Some time away from the busy city.

IMG_4462

I miss my long hair. Heh.

IMG_4779

TWG’s macaroon are my absolute favourite. No doubt, macaroons from other places are way too sweet for my liking and the fact that these macaroons are tea infused, makes me love it even more. I love my teas. 😉

IMG_4585

It was also a month of good food. Hahaha. Here is a bowl of Vietnamese noodles with spring rolls and prawn cakes on a sugarcane.

IMG_4976

Went to the fried laksa place with my high school mates, it was good as usual. 😀

IMG_4981

It was also Samtard’s birthday! ❤ This was taken during our fried laksa trip. Hahahaha.

IMG_5010

Also met up with this cyborg goddess, no one will understand this little inside joke. Hahaha. What a coincidence that I wore the same thing. 😂

August was a month of birthdays. What else, for my thesis, I was in the midst of almost completing my chapter 4 I suppose and also writing the two short essays which I hope and pray I will receive good grades. Let’s hope I will be able to write my September update in the first week of October. Hehe.

Chopped and Dyed

I cut and dyed my hair.

IMG_5126

From this waist long hair to a a little bit past the shoulder length.

IMG_5139

I adored my waist-lengthed hair, as conceited as it sounds, I loved having long hair. I loved braiding it, curling it, and being able to do all sorts of styles was such fun to me. I’ve kept my hair long since two years ago. But, I needed to cut it off because it was getting too troublesome, I didn’t want to spend too much time on my hair every morning anymore. I wanted and needed to focus on my thesis. A little sacrifice if you will. I’m not too attached to my hair, so I am fine with cutting off a good 9 – 10 inches, I did that previously. It was a good change. Hair will grow back anyways. Having shorter hair is definitely less time consuming, to dry, to curl, to condition, etc. I do prefer my long hair, this length that I have now is sort of strange to me, initially. I wanted to cut shorter but the stylist said the ends will curl if I cut it any shorter, so I decided to listen to him.

So I had my new hair for about a week before I dyed it pink. Part of me wanted to go back to dark colours and another part of me wanted to keep the blonde. I decided to dye it pink! I always wanted a rose gold colour-ish, but to achieve that colour, bleaching is necessary for the colour to really show up. I didn’t want to bleach my hair, so the stylist just dyed my hair as it is with the pink colour and the colour came out really nicely. I am so glad!

IMG_5339

The colour is way more visible under direct sunlight.

IMG_5367

After dying my hair this colour, I am settling better with the shorter hair, maybe the colour is more suited with the shorter hair. Who knows? Or I’m just being strange?

IMG_5404

Taking as much pictures as I can before the colour fades away. Hehehe.

I love my new hair! ❤

July 2017

July.

IMG_3619

It was the month to return for semester 2. (Not that I wasn’t in university during my semester break, because I was still going to uni to transcribe my interviews and all that). It was time to begin the second semester, with heavy workload on top of my 15 – 18 thousand words thesis. An additional 9K words for three different essays. You gotta do, what you gotta do. I finally finished 5K+ words for two essays, one more essay to write worth 4K thousand words. I can do this!

IMG_4019

Of course there were times I did work and all that but I had my fair share of fun too! I went and watched Dunkirk with my grandma. I went to the cinema with no background whatsoever, I had no idea what was going on until I came home and Google the history behind the film. It was a good film nonetheless!

IMG_3794

Also went to my sister’s friend Hari Raya open house! 😀

IMG_3890

I also took part in one of the Australian unit that was conducted in the Malaysia campus. Since I did not get to participate in the exchange program, I consider this as my ‘redemption’? Hahaha. I met some really nice people while taking part in their unit, even though I was only there for three days. I learned a lot too! There are some things that they don’t teach us in my course, like how to organise the interviews and themes, things like that. I learned the charting method from that unit, which I used for my interviews transcriptions.

That’s about it from July!

This post was due to go up during the 5 days weekend. 😅
Next post, August! ❤

23rd Birthday

I celebrated my 23rd birthday on three different occasions. Two of them were surprises! ❤ I feel the immense love from everyone. I cannot thank everyone enough for their effort for making my birthday so memorable. I didn’t really expect or anticipate any celebrations. First, there’s a lot of work to complete, essays, readings, writing up my chapters for my thesis. So I wasn’t in the celebratory mood. However, it changed when Sarah and Rupini came to surprise me!

12 August.

I went through an ordeal of mum and sister not allowing me to shower and sleep. I normally prepare to shower and sleep at around 8pm – 9pm. I also like to sleep early. But that night, we went out for ice-cream. Turns out these two fellas planned a surprise for me! I was so undone, even swept my bangs aside already. 😂 That shows that I am done with the day, when I don’t care about my appearance anymore. I was so surprised because I met them two days before this and we were only planning to meet later this month. Sarah’s beautifully crafted the card! I love it!

Birthday 2017

13 August

My actual birthday! I went to Pavilion with my mum and sister to catch a film. Unfortunately the seats left were only the first and second row, so we decided not to watch it. Then we went shopping for a bit. We went to Tonkatsu by Wa Kitchen for lunch. This is one of my favourite Japanese places. It was delicious!

Birthday 2017

Also went to TWG to get some macaroon because I wanted some 😋 So worth the price! 💕 Would definitely go back for more again!

Birthday 2017

Since there’s already cake at home, mum insisted I get a mini cake from TWG. I chose the big macaroon looking one. 💖

Birthday 2017

Isn’t it so pretty? 😍

Birthday 2017

14 August

Just as I thought my birthday was over, my classmates surprised me in the afternoon! This surprise was a complete shock to me. I saw them carrying the cake from the refection, but I really appreciate their thoughtful surprise and all the gifts! ❤️ The cake was really really good, so rich in chocolate!

Birthday 2017

Flowers and a neon pink S notebook. They know me so well! 😂

Birthday 2017

This is my absolute favourite part. CONFETTI. I wanted to keep it like it is forever! But obviously it’s not possible, I cleaned it up today. I was so happy to walk into the confetti room this morning. 😌

Birthday 2017

The colours just makes me so happy! And it fell perfectly on my desk.

Birthday 2017

So much colours. The room was finally colourful for once! 😂

Birthday 2017

Group picture! ❤️ I asked my supervisor to help us take this picture, and he said that this is quite an unusual request, when he said that, he also got this nice candid photo of us. 👌🏼

Quite a few staff from school also wished me a happy birthday, including both my supervisors. All because I had to explain why the room had confetti all over. 😅

I had such an amazing birthday. So much thanks to everyone who left me messages, gave me gifts, and spent time to celebrate with me! ❤️

June 2017

Currently down with a sore throat, on and off fever, and a slight cough. I think all these is due to the fact that I was sitting in an incredibly cold seminar room from 9am – 5pm, for three days. Not only I was sitting in the cold room, I was going in and out several times for food and class activities. I should’ve taken a jacket or something. Oh well, I’m recovering now. Speaking of the three days, I crashed the Australian unit, the class came to Malaysia to conduct research in Segamat, Johor. I learned new research methods and made new friends! The classes were really interactive! There were three meals a day, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea; this is really good, in a way, it’s like a little refresher. I’d love to follow them to Segamat to see how they get on with the research but unfortunately I’ve my own work to do.

Anyways, June. The semester break started. I had (am still having) half a break, because I need to conduct my interviews and transcribe interviews and all that fun stuff. So I still went to school, but on days I don’t have much to do, I stay at home and chill. I’ve conducted three interviews so far and it all went very well. 😀

June

June was also the month where I ate out a lot. So, this post will be flooded with food pictures. 😋 The pictures are all in random order. Hehe.

Curled my hair a lot in June

Nothing too exciting happened in June. Normally during the semester breaks I’d go on a holiday but this year I have to focus on my interviews and how my thesis is progressing. I received my results yesterday and I am incredibly happy with my grades. I just have to work harder next semester to maintain the results that I am happy with. 😇

Till next time,

SASA Haul

I haven’t done a haul post in forever. In fact, I haven’t done a proper post apart from the monthly updates.

I had zero intention of buying anything from SASA, we went there because my sister wanted to get a clay mask and after an hour there, we came out with two paper bags of beauty products.

Untitled

I’ve always wanted to try out products from Chosungah 22, but it can be pricy, so finally when there’s a sale, I obviously had to get some stuff! From left to right.
Chosungah 22, Fresh Ade Cleanser Peach 320, RM27.70 after 70% off. The tester smells super delicious!
Chosungah 22, Brow Dong Gong Minn Brow Maker, RM20.70 after 70% off.
Bifesta, Bright Up Foaming Whip Cleanser, RM20.70 I think, usual price is RM24. Bought this because the product looks super interesting, plus the packaging is really eye-catching!

Untitled

Mask galore up next.
2 packs for RM50, 10 sheet masks in one box.
Soo Beauté Jeju Cactus Mask.
Soo Beauté Jeju Dandelion Mask.

Untitled

Soo Beauté Pore Refresh Black Bubble Sheet. RM78 for 10 sheets. This is slightly pricier as it has more benefits than a regular sheet mask. I tried this last night and it was really refreshing, I am not sure if the blackheads really came out but it felt nice. Bubbles actually started to appear after five mins of putting on the mask, I left the mask for a good half an hour, even though the instruction suggested to leave it on for 10 – 15 minutes.

Untitled

Two more boxes of masks, ten sheets in each box, the deal was buy one at RM45, and another one for an additional RM1. Basically, RM46 for two boxes.
Soo Beauté Whiten-Vital Ampoule Mask.
Soo Beauté Purify-Vital Ampoule Mask.

The amount of mask may seem a lot but I apply masks almost everyday. Some people say its not good but its working well for me, so I’ll just continue the routine. Next post is the customary monthly update post. 😉
